In a recent interview with British Vogue, Madonna defended Michael Jackson regarding the false allegations made against him in the “documentary” Leaving Neverland.
Quotes include:
“I don’t have a lynch-mob mentality, so in my mind, people are innocent until proven guilty,” Madonna said.
“I’ve had a thousand accusations hurled at me that are not true,” she said. “So my attitude when people tell me things about people is, ‘Can you prove it?’”
“I don’t know, I haven’t seen the film. But I guess it would be people recounting actual events ― but then, of course, people sometimes lie,” she said.
“So I always say, ‘What’s the agenda? What do people want out of this? Are there people asking for money, is there some kind of extortion thing happening? I would take all of those things into consideration.”
She hasn’t seen the film yet, so we’ll have to wait and see if she’ll change her mind when she does. But Madonna is a smart woman who sees straight through bullshit, so hopefully her opinion will remain unchanged.
Good luck trying to cancel Madonna, media. You failed with Diana Ross, so don’t expect a different outcome here.
